BEhind The Scenes: " Blue Ridge: The Series"

whoops:

I was in the dentist chair when a call came through. “You got dwayne! you're heading back to Charlotte.” so naturally, I went to jail. I learned as much as i could about being a prison guard, only to realize when I got the script, I wasn't going to play a cop at all but the village idiot! but hey, at least I knew I would be in my element!

Walking out of my trailer on my first day on set.

Giants:

John Wayne taught him how to throw a punch. When I figured out that who was playing the role of connor mcgrath I was over the moon. On top of a wrap sheet over 50 years long, A. Martinez played the legendary role of Cimarron in John Wayne's “The Cowboys” back in 1972. I was humbled to get to work with him, and honored to get to stand on the sidelines and watch this man work. That was Easily one of my favorite parts of working on the show.

going to bat:

Improv has always terrified me. From the jump I knew this project would involve more collaboration than I'd ever previously experienced on a job. I had to step up my game. After episode One , it started to become pretty apparent that I understood the character of dwayne and general redneckery pretty well and the director , gary wheeler, gave me permission to wield dwayne as I saw fit. In my adult career I've never been trusted with a character like that before. I won't soon forget it. The lead, Johnathon Scheach then went to bat for me to be included in more episodes. I was humbled. I've never had another actor, much less the lead be that emphatic about including another actor in the mix. I'll never forget him pulling me aside by the wrestling ring on episode three and telling me "I'm glad you're on this shoot, you make it make sense." I don't know if there's a greater compliment an actor can receive. I don't take Dwayne for granted.
